Activity Description
Despite long-held assumptions, osteoporotic fracture is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in men as it is in women. We will review the most recent evidence supporting the diagnostic and therapeutic management of osteoporosis in men.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize that osteoporosis is common in men and overall mortality after hip fracture is high.
- Be able to devise appropriate evaluation of men with fracture and/or low bone density.
- Guide osteoporosis management in men based on severity of fracture risk.
Instructions:
Clinicians and Technologists are required to answer a set of online test questions following the review of the video and will have up to three attempts to answer questions correctly before losing credit for the activity. Once the activity test has been passed (75% or higher), you will be asked to evaluate the activity online and then be allowed to claim credit and print certificates.
