Activity Description
This activity will describe the evidence behind optimal strategies in osteoporosis management, including optimal pharmacologic sequences and the role of combination therapy, as well as optimal treatment targets.
Learning Objectives:
1. Describe various strategies in the longitudinal management of osteoporosis.
2. Identify optimal pharmacotherapeutic sequences for fracture risk reduction.
3. Discuss optimal targets in osteoporosis care.
Instructions:
Clinicians and Technologists are required to answer a set of online test questions following the review of the video and will have up to three attempts to answer questions correctly before losing credit for the activity. Once the activity test has been passed (75% or higher), you will be asked to evaluate the activity online and then be allowed to claim credit and print certificates.

Dr. Angela M. Cheung is Professor of Medicine, KY and Betty Ho Chair of Integrative Medicine at University of Toronto (UT) and Senior Physician Scientist at University Health Network (UHN). She is the Founding Director of University Health Network Osteoporosis Program and the Founding Director of University of Toronto Centre of Excellence in Skeletal Health Assessment (CESHA). She currently holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Musculoskeletal and Postmenopausal Health, and has held a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Senior Investigator award, the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine (CSIM) David Sackett Senior Investigator award, the Ontario Premier Research Award and the University of Toronto Eudenie Stuart Mentorship award and the Michael Hutcheon Mentor of the Year award. She is chair of the International Society of Clinical Densitometry Canadian Panel, member of International Osteoporosis Foundation Council of Scientific Advisors, member of Endocrine Society Clinical Guidelines Committee, and past chair of Osteoporosis Canada Scientific Advisory Council. She obtained her M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1988, and her PhD from Harvard University in 1997. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and has been in clinical practice for >30 years.
