Activity Description
Attendees will learn how to diagnose and manage rare bone diseases such as hypophosphatemic rickets and hypophosphatasia. Attendees can listen to a clear lecture and understand the state of the art of how to diagnose and manage rare bone diseases such as hypophosphatemic rickets and hypophosphatasia.
Learning Objectives:
1. The attendee will understand how to diagnose and manage hypophosphatemic rickets
2. The attendee will understand how to diagnose and manage hypophosphatasia
3. The attendee will understand how to diagnose and manage osteogenesis imperfecta
Instructions:
Clinicians and Technologists are required to answer a set of online test questions following the review of the video and will have up to three attempts to answer questions correctly before losing credit for the activity. Once the activity test has been passed (75% or higher), you will be asked to evaluate the activity online and then be allowed to claim credit and print certificates.

Dr Manju Chandran is a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Director of the Osteoporosis and Bone Metabolism Unit at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
She is the Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Consortium on Osteoporosis (APCO), past Chairperson of the Chapter of Endocrinologists, College of Physicians, Academy of Medicine, Singapore; elected Member of the Council of Scientific Advisors and Board Member of the IOF and Deputy Chair of its Asia Pacific Regional Advisory Council; Past President of the Endocrine and Metabolic Society of Singapore, Vice Chair of the Asia Pacific Panel of the ISCD, and Treasurer of the Osteoporosis Society of Singapore. She was a Member of the Publications Committee of the ASBMR and current member of its Women In Bone and Mineral Research Committee. She has won a multitude of international awards, including the most prestigious of the IOF awards- the 2021 Olof Johnell Science Award, the IOF Committee of National Societies Medal 2015; the IOF International Young Investigator Award 2013, the SGH Most Inspiring Mentor Award 2021 and the Singhealth DUKE NUS Most Caffeinated Researcher Award 2020. OPTIMAL- the Secondary Fracture Prevention and Fracture Liaison Service she set up at SGH was the 3rd in the world and the 1st in the Asia Pacific to win the Gold Star in the IOF’s Capture the Fracture Global Map of Best Practice in 2015.
Her research and clinical interests include the epidemiology and health economic burden of osteoporosis, rare bone disorders, diabetes and bone health and parathyroid disorders. She has close to160 publications more than ¾ of which she is the first or senior author of. She is the Section Co-Editor on Osteoporosis in the ASBMR's Primer on Metabolic Bone Diseases. She is a regular Keynote, Plenary and Symposium speaker at regional and international conferences in the fields of Endocrinology and Bone Metabolism.
